Safeguarding and Welfare
The Korean language and culture programme is delivered by Seokyeong University. Ulearniverse is the university’s approved partner and handles bookings and participant support. During the programme, Ulearniverse and university staff work together on supervision, welfare and communication with families. Participants and parents will receive the relevant contact details before arrival.
The safety and wellbeing of every participant are central to the U-Camp Seoul experience. Ulearniverse and Seokyeong University have established clear arrangements covering supervision, staff responsibilities, accommodation, excursions, communication, medical support and emergency procedures.
The programme operates with a minimum ratio of one responsible programme staff member for every 10 participants under 18. Additional supervision may be provided depending on participants’ ages, needs and planned activities.
Full safeguarding contacts and 24-hour emergency numbers are provided to participants, parents and guardians before arrival.
Ulearniverse holds public liability insurance. This is separate from personal travel insurance, which is not included in the programme. We strongly recommend that participants arrange their own cover for medical treatment abroad, repatriation, cancellation and planned activities. Families should be aware that they may have to meet these costs themselves if they travel without suitable cover. Participants who need a visa should check the insurance requirements for their particular application.
